The all-in-one hub for a mixed home
The M3 brings your Aqara Zigbee and Thread devices onto Matter, then exposes them to Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and more. One hub covers up to 127 Thread and Zigbee devices, so you stop juggling wireless protocols and just run your home.
- Zigbee 3.0 hub — carries the full lineup of Aqara Zigbee sensors, switches and lights
- Thread border router — adds and extends Thread devices, and brings non-Thread Matter controllers onto the network
- Matter bridge — one bridge between your Aqara gear and every major ecosystem

Turns your old aircon into a Matter thermostat
The built-in 360° IR blaster controls your existing air conditioner and other IR gear. Pair an Aqara Climate Sensor and the M3 triggers automations off the room's real temperature — then exposes the aircon to Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home over Matter. It reads back status too, so every remote press stays in sync in the app.
- Feedback and learning — detects state changes, not just fires blind commands
- First IR support in Apple Home — brings an infrared aircon into HomeKit as a proper thermostat

Automations that keep running offline
The M3 moves automation off the cloud and onto the device, then takes charge of your older Aqara hubs for one coordinated system. Cross-hub routines run locally — so a rule between a sensor on one hub and a light on another still fires during an internet outage.
- Local control — faster, steadier automation with less cloud dependency
- Hub replacement — migrate devices off older Aqara hubs without re-pairing each one

Connect and power it any way you like
Dual-band Wi-Fi with WPA3 for a clean wireless install, or an RJ45 port with PoE to run power and data down a single Ethernet cable. The USB-C input even takes a power bank or UPS, so the hub can ride through a blackout.
- PoE or Type-C — power over Ethernet, USB-C, or a battery pack for backup
- 2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-Fi — dual-band with WPA3 security when you go wireless

No camera, no mic — your data stays home
The M3 deliberately ships without a microphone or camera, and keeps device lists, configuration and automation data in 8 GB of end-to-end encrypted on-board storage rather than the cloud. The 95 dB speaker doubles as an Aqara Home alert siren and plays custom ringtones inside your automations — internet or not.
- Encrypted local storage — 8 GB eMMC keeps your setup on the device, not on a server
- 95 dB speaker — siren, chimes and custom announcements built in

A 2A USB power adapter is not included. Third-party Matter device support is currently a Lab feature limited to select brands and device types (Philips Hue lights, Leviton switches/dimmers, Google Nest thermostats) and is expanding over time. Matter feature support varies by ecosystem and app. Some cloud-dependent actions — push notifications, weather, sunrise/sunset and geofencing — still require an internet connection. Zigbee range depends on layout; add repeaters for larger homes.
Frequently asked questions
M3 or M200 — which hub should I pick?
Both are Matter controllers, Thread border routers and Zigbee hubs with a 360° IR blaster. The M3 steps up to 127 Thread and Zigbee devices, 8 GB of encrypted on-device storage, and an edge-hub role that coordinates older Aqara hubs — the choice for a larger or multi-hub home. The guide 'Which Aqara hub should you buy?' in our Articles section compares them in detail.
Can the M3 put my aircon in Apple Home?
Yes — the built-in 360° IR blaster pairs with an Aqara Climate Sensor to expose an ordinary infrared air conditioner to Apple Home, Alexa and Google Home as a proper thermostat over Matter, driven by the room's real temperature. IR is line-of-sight, so the M3 controls appliances in the same room only.
Do automations keep running without internet?
Yes — the M3 runs automations on the device, including cross-hub routines between devices sitting on different Aqara hubs. Cloud-dependent actions such as push notifications, weather, sunrise/sunset and geofencing still require a connection.
Can the M3 control non-Aqara Matter devices?
Partially, for now. Third-party Matter device control is currently a Lab feature limited to select brands and device types — Philips Hue lights, Leviton switches and dimmers, Google Nest thermostats — with the list expanding over time. Bridging your Aqara devices out to Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings is fully supported.
