Aqara scene controlling a connected kitchen and living space

Aqara scenes

Control a whole room with one command.

A scene sets several devices together for a specific activity, time of day or home mode—without adjusting each one separately.

What is a smart home scene?

A scene controls several devices at the same time.

A scene saves a group of device settings for a specific activity, room or time of day. Run it once to apply every setting together.

01

Save the settings

Set the lighting, curtain position, air-conditioning and every other device to the state the activity needs.

02

Run one command

Apply every saved setting from one tap, button press, voice command, schedule or automation.

03

Use it throughout the home

Create separate scenes for rooms, activities, arrivals, departures, mornings and nights.

Whole-home scenes

Six useful smart home scenes.

The best scenes match activities that already happen. Each example below names specific devices and values; in a real home every one of them is set room by room, and which actions exist depends on the products installed.

Good Morning

Open the bedroom curtains, bring the bedroom lights up gradually, switch off the overnight air-conditioning and turn on the kitchen lights.

  • Lighting
  • Air-conditioning

Welcome Home

Turn on the entrance and living-room lights, start the air-conditioner at 25°C and half-close the living-room curtains.

  • Air-conditioning

Movie Night

Drop the living-room lights to 20%, close the curtains and set the air-conditioner — one command instead of four.

  • Lighting
  • Curtains
  • IR control

Leaving Home

Turn off every light and the air-conditioning, close the curtains and put the home into Away mode so the sensors start reporting.

  • Lighting
  • Air-conditioning
  • Security

Good Night

Switch off the living-room and kitchen lights, close the bedroom curtains, drop the bedroom lights to a low warm level and set the air-conditioner for the night.

  • Curtains
  • Security

Evening

Shift the lighting from daytime white to a warmer colour temperature, lower the brightness in the living areas and close the curtains at sunset.

Scenes and automations

Scenes and automations do different jobs.

Scenes define the result. Automations decide when that result should happen. A Good Night scene can be run from a button or voice command, then reused inside an automation that starts at bedtime.

One requested action

Scene

“Movie Night” dims the lights, closes the curtains and sets the room exactly as saved.

You ask for a defined result.

A response to conditions

Automation

At 10.30pm, if someone is home, the system runs the saved Good Night scene automatically.

The home acts when the rule matches.

Scene controls

Run the same scene in several ways.

A scene should be available where it is most convenient, without forcing everyone in the house onto the same interface. A scene built in Aqara Home has to be exposed to another platform before it can be run from there.

1

In the app

Run a scene from Aqara Home, or from Apple Home, Google Home or Alexa once it has been exposed there.

2

At the wall

Assign a scene to a smart switch, a wall panel or a wireless button.

3

By voice

Ask Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa for the scene by name.

4

On a schedule

Run a morning, evening or weekly routine at a set time.

5

From an automation

Let a sensor, a lock event or a home mode launch the scene without anyone asking.

Scene planning

Build scenes around rooms and routines.

Scenes work best when every action supports one clear purpose. A long list of devices is not the goal.

  • Name scenes by activity: Good Morning, Dining, Movie Night or Leaving Home.
  • Set brightness, colour temperature, curtain position and cooling deliberately.
  • Keep essential physical controls available for family members and guests.
  • Separate rooms when different people use them on different schedules.
  • Confirm which devices and scene actions are exposed to each chosen platform.
