Privacy Policy

Who we are

This site, pfetech.com/aqara, is operated by PFE Technologies Pte Ltd (UEN 197800448W), the official Aqara distributor for Singapore, registered at 9 Gul Street 4, Singapore 629238. In this policy, “we” and “us” refer to that company.

This policy describes what personal data this website collects, why it is collected, which third parties are involved, and how to reach us about it. It covers this website only. Purchases made through a marketplace storefront or another retailer are also subject to that platform’s own privacy policy.

Orders and checkout

Placing an order requires an email address, a first and last name, a delivery address with postal code, and optionally a phone number. Those details, together with the items in your cart and the delivery method you select, are stored against your order in the commerce backend that runs this shop. There are no customer accounts on this site, so no username or password is stored.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are entered into fields hosted by Stripe and are transmitted to Stripe rather than to us, so the full card number never reaches our servers. We receive confirmation that the payment succeeded and the reference Stripe returns for it. Stripe handles the payment under its own privacy terms and sets its own cookies on the checkout pages for fraud prevention.

Delivery details are shared with the courier handling the delivery. If the order includes installation, the contact and address details needed for the appointment are shared with the installer carrying out the work.

Enquiry, appointment, planning and installation forms

The contact, Experience Centre appointment, partner application, smart home planning and installation request forms submit directly to PFE Front Desk at appts.pfetech.app, our own enquiry and appointment system. Front Desk records the enquiry, creates or updates a contact record in our internal customer system, and routes the request to the team that handles it.

What each form collects depends on what it is for. Across the set, the fields are:

  • Name, email address and phone number.
  • The subject and body of your message.
  • Company name, website, position, main business and retail location on the partner application.
  • Property type, project stage, timeline, areas of interest and free-text notes on the smart home planning form.
  • Preferred date and time, and the topics you want to cover, when booking an Experience Centre visit.
  • Installation address, residential address where it differs, preferred date and time, lock model, whether the main door is wooden, whether there is a metal gate and its clearance, the services requested, and the reseller, purchase date and invoice number of the product being installed.

Several of these forms accept file attachments, such as a floor plan, a photograph of a door or gate, or a receipt. Anything you attach is stored with the enquiry record.

Each submission also carries basic campaign attribution: the page that referred you, the page you arrived on, and any campaign parameters in the URL such as utm_source or gclid. These values are held in your browser’s local storage under pfe_attr for up to 30 days and sent with the form, so we can see which pages and campaigns lead to enquiries.

Warranty registration

Warranty registration is a separate process from the enquiry forms. The form on the warranty registration page submits to our warranty service at warranty.pfetech.app and collects a salutation, first and last name, mobile number, email address, street address, unit number, postal code and country, along with the purchase platform, reseller name, purchase date and receipt or invoice number.

A photograph or scan of the receipt is required, because proof of purchase is what the warranty terms are assessed against. The file is uploaded to the warranty service before the registration itself is submitted, and is stored with the registration record.

The registration form carries an optional, unticked checkbox for Aqara product updates and offers. Ticking it is the only action on this site that adds you to marketing email, and that consent can be withdrawn at any time using the contact details below.

Security checks on forms

Every public form on this site runs Cloudflare Turnstile. The widget loads in your browser and issues a token that the receiving service verifies with Cloudflare, which means Cloudflare receives the technical signals it uses to distinguish a person from an automated submission. Forms also include a hidden field that only automated scripts complete; submissions that fill it are rejected. Our enquiry system additionally applies rate limits based on the network address a submission comes from.

Analytics, hosting and site usage

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-92HP5FKSBK, the same property as the rest of pfetech.com) to understand how pages are used. It records page views and a small set of interaction events, such as clicks on contact methods and on the homepage video placeholders, together with the information a browser routinely sends: device and browser type, referring site, and an approximate location derived from the network address. Google Analytics sets its own cookies, whose names begin with _ga, and Google processes that data under its own terms.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which sits in front of our server as a content delivery network and security layer. Cloudflare processes request data, including network addresses, for delivery and abuse prevention, and may set cookies of its own for those purposes. Our web server keeps standard access logs.

Cookies

This site sets two cookies of its own, both lasting seven days:

  • _aq_cart_id — links your browser to your shopping cart so its contents survive between page loads.
  • _aq_cache_id — a random identifier that keeps your cart data separate in the server-side cache. It contains no personal data.

Both are restricted to this site and are not readable by scripts, and neither is used for advertising. The further cookies described above are set by Google Analytics for measurement, by Cloudflare for delivery and security, and by Stripe during checkout.

Embedded content

Videos on the homepage appear as still images until you click one, so nothing is requested from YouTube on page load; playback then loads the video from youtube-nocookie.com. The Experience Centre page embeds a Google Map of 24 Keong Saik Road. Once either embed loads, Google receives the request and applies its own policies to it.

Who your data is shared with

Personal data collected through this site is shared only for the purposes described above, with:

  • Stripe, for card payments.
  • Google, for analytics and for the map and video embeds once they load.
  • Cloudflare, for content delivery, security and the Turnstile check.
  • Couriers, for delivery, and installers or service technicians, for installation and onsite warranty visits.

Stripe, Google and Cloudflare operate internationally, so data they handle may be processed outside Singapore under their own arrangements. We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

How long data is kept

Order records are kept for as long as they are needed to support the purchase and to meet accounting, tax and warranty obligations. Warranty registrations are kept at least for the length of the warranty they support, since a claim can be made at any point within it. Enquiries, appointments and installation requests are kept for as long as they remain useful for follow-up and support. Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting on the Google Analytics property. Records that no longer serve any of these purposes are deleted or anonymised.

Your rights under the PDPA

Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act gives you the right to ask for access to the personal data we hold about you and how it has been used, to ask us to correct anything inaccurate, and to withdraw consent for uses that rely on it, including marketing email.

Send requests to [email protected], or by post to PFE Technologies Pte Ltd, 9 Gul Street 4, Singapore 629238. Details that identify the record, such as an order number, the date of an enquiry or a warranty submission number, let us find it faster. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the PDPA allows.

Withdrawing consent for marketing does not affect the records we are required to keep in order to fulfil an order or honour a warranty.

Security

Traffic to and from this site is encrypted in transit, card details are handled by Stripe rather than by us, and access to order, enquiry and warranty records is limited to the staff who need it for their work. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, and this policy does not claim otherwise.

Changes to this policy

This page always carries the current version, and it is updated when the way this site handles personal data changes. Questions about anything here can go to [email protected] or through our contact page.
