FP400 tracks up to 10 people in real time on a 0.5 m × 0.5 m grid, so the sofa, dining table and walkway can each run their own automation without triggering one another. AI-assisted zone setup identifies room boundaries and likely interference sources to speed up configuration.

A 60 GHz mmWave radar with a 4T4R antenna array captures over five times denser point-cloud data than earlier Aqara generations, detecting the breathing movement of someone reading or asleep. With AI person detection enabled, it filters out pets, robot vacuums and moving objects. There is no camera, so no images are captured.

A 120° field of view covers up to 10 × 8 m. Corner mounting uses the full angle and avoids blind spots along both walls; side mounting at 1.5–2 m or ceiling mounting at 3–4 m suits other layouts. IPX5 splash resistance means kitchens and bathrooms are fine, and constant USB-C power means no batteries to change.

Zones, multi-person tracking and headcount require a compatible Aqara hub and the Aqara Home app; pairing in Thread mode requires an Aqara Matter controller (Hub M3, M200, Camera Hub G5 Pro, G350 or Doorbell Camera Hub G410). Which Aqara hubs work with the FP400?
The FP400 is fully supported by the Hub M3, Hub M200, Hub M100, MagicPad and Panel Hub S1 Plus, Camera Hub G5 Pro, Camera Hub G350 and Doorbell Camera Hub G410. It is not compatible with the Hub M1S Gen 2, Hub M2, Camera Hub G2H Pro or Camera Hub G3, because its multi-target tracking and zoning need newer hub hardware. In Thread mode, pairing in Aqara Home needs an Aqara Matter controller: the Hub M3, M200, Camera Hub G5 Pro, G350 or G410.
Can I use the FP400 without an Aqara hub?
Yes, but with fewer features. Added directly to Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, SmartThings or Home Assistant over Matter, it works as a single presence sensor and a single light sensor; that needs the platform's Matter controller and a Thread border router. Custom zones, multi-person tracking and headcount require a compatible Aqara hub and the Aqara Home app. Set up zones in Aqara Home first, then share the sensor to the other platform.
Will it ignore pets and robot vacuums?
With AI person detection turned on, the FP400 filters out non-human targets such as pets and robot vacuums; small children can occasionally be classed as pets. You can also mark a pet bed, fan or curtain as an interference-source zone, or lower the sensitivity, to reduce false presence.
Where should I mount the FP400?
A corner is usually best: it uses the full 120° field of view and avoids blind spots along both walls. Side mounting works at 1.5–2 m high and ceiling mounting at 3–4 m.
