We have added a new product into our portfolio: Soudal Metal Fix.

Soudal Metal Fix is part of Soudal’s new “Fix” range which includes Soudal Pool Fix, Soudal Zinc Fix, and Soudal Green Fix.

Soudal Metal Fix

Soudal Metal Fix is a sealant/adhesive based on Soudal’s SMX Hybrid Polymer technology, so it’s something like Fix All. Just like Fix All, it has very high adhesive strength, suitability on a wide range of materials, and can be used in many, many difficult conditions and scenarios. For example, it can work underwater.

Metal Fix is targeted at the sealing and bonding of metals such as steel, aluminium, and iron. It’s a great adhesive to use on things like metal fixtures, metal stairs and structures, steel works etc. It can also be used as a sealant, especially for when one substrate is a metal, due to its appearance – think stainless steel counters. KKH Window Newspaper

Recently, there’s been talk going around of newspaper found in a HDB wall, calling it “half cement half newspaper”.

Since then, HDB has come forward to clarify that the use of newspaper was by a renovation contractor hired by the flat owner in 1999. The balcony was completed in 1984.

We’re not surprised, because we’re in the window industry. Stuffing newspaper into window frame joints is fairly common practice back in the day. You know where else you can find newspaper stuffed into a window joint?

KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

We visited the hospital for personal reasons in 2014, and found this window at the ward.

It’s the same thing. Newspaper stuffed into a window joint, and then a layer of acrylic sealant over the newspaper. Read more

How Long Can Sealants Last

This is a question we face quite often – how long do sealants last? Short answer – from a few years to decades – it all depends on the conditions it’s used in.

We do not have any specific data on lifespan since that is dependent on so many factors. Simply put – sealants can last a good number of years – even up to 50 to 100 years, but the amount of weathering and exposure will affect the lifespan. Constant movement or mechanical abrasion are also factors which will decrease lifespan. Read more

Fix All Turbo Demo Break

Fix All Turbo – Stronger than wood

It has happened.

For years, we’ve been doing demonstrations of Fix All Turbo by using two pieces of wood. It’s simple – apply Fix All Turbo to a piece of wood, stick another piece of wood so it bonds together, press tight, and start the timer. You might have seen it in the official Turbo video here:

The end result looks like this.

Fix All Turbo Demo Break

20 minutes later, challenge anyone and everyone to break the pieces apart. There are plenty of places to grip, and enough space for two people to try to pull the pieces apart with all their strength. Just 20 minutes of bond time – and our Turbo adhesive bonds so strongly that so far, nobody has been able to pull it apart.

And then it changed. A new challenger was able to break it. Read more

We’re proud to announce that we will be participating once again in BuildTech Asia, an International Building Technology Expo held in Singapore. This annual exhibition is the region’s leading trade show  for the building and construction industry. It’s hosted by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) in Singapore, and it is where the top companies of different fields come together to showcase their many different advanced building and construction technologies.

PFE Technologies will be taking up a stand in the Singapore pavilion (of course!) – where we join our other fellow local Singaporean companies at the forefront of construction technology. Sausage Packaging Now Available For Pereseal 702

PFE Technologies Pte Ltd is proud to offer Pereseal 702 in our new aluminium foil sausage packaging!

So far, our sealant packaging has been confined to only PE cartridges. We have made the change to now offer our sealants in aluminium foil packaging (or sausage packaging), which brings about many benefits.

Remember – PE is a non-biodegradable material that lasts decades in landfills. Even in its usage and application, PE is not the ideal packaging for sealants – it is hard to cut open, and requires certain amount of engineering parameters to balance out the production process, ease-of-use, and shelf life.

With sausage packaging, PFE Technologies is taking a big step to make the world a better place. We are currently the first and only sealant supplier in Singapore offering acrylic sealants in aluminium foil sausage packaging. Read more
